Born in Munich on June 29, 1991, Nils Dresemann grew up in the Bavarian countryside. For him, culture meant above all the TV listings and a VHS recorder. At twelve, he watched Dead Poets Society and Run Lola Run over the course of one weekend – and decided to make films.

His path there has always been shaped by his search for collaborators. It took him from school theatre and philosophy studies to Berlin, where he worked first as a production assistant and later in the art department, before eventually studying directing at Macromedia University in Munich – and now, hopefully, to you.

Today, he works as a screenwriter, director and editor, most recently for cinema and Netflix productions. He is drawn to apparent contradictions: Pixar and David Lynch, entertainment and high culture – always searching for beauty in seemingly hopeless situations.
